Ready for the new year!
We're headed back for PD days next week, but our kids don't start until September 3rd. I moved rooms last year (after being in my old one for 12 years) and I never really got it organized the way I wanted. So, I had a lot of fun working on that this summer! 💜
My magnetic white board is my favorite spot...it's the first one of my career! 😳
My view of the room from my panel/teaching spot.
I love Lakeshore's storage benches, they hold so many things! Otto Storage stools make it so easy to organize headphones, math supplies, stuffed animals... And the best part is they are so comfortable!
This year I organized all of the CKLA Knowledge celebration materials into these bins. It is going to make prepping for those days A LOT easier. I have all the hands-on activities, and even folders with all the copies I need for that celebration day!
We are lucky enough to have several storage areas in our classrooms. This spot was a bit of a dumping ground last year due to the move, so I am excited to finally utilize it the right way this year. I can keep all our extra CKLA manuals for Skills here, as well as a lot of our Science and art supplies.
This year I am organizing my library into Knowledge units. That way the books are easy for me to find...and them to access! The bins have a different label on the other side, so I can flip them around if I need space for another unit.
I've used R2-D2 for classroom management for years, but this year he has BB-8 for a new buddy! I count back from 3, and if they are ready, they get to hear the droid sounds!
I am thinking of putting various sizes of the library labels and the storage ones from above on my blog. Let me know if you're interested!
I still have more to do, but it definitely feels more like my room this year!
If you are back already, I hope you have had a great start! If not, enjoy those last weeks of summer!😎
