Decoding words with ending blends has always been a confusing concept for my early readers.
I find when they encounter these words in a long sentence, they become even more overwhelmed!
One of the first games I made back in the early 2000's was for ending blends. I noticed that sounding out the word in isolation was a lot less intimidating for my early and struggling readers.
The game made it a fun way to decode new words, while increasing their vocabulary as well!
